1. Overview

At SmartCaddie.ai, we want you to be completely satisfied with our AI-powered golf caddie service. This policy explains our refund and cancellation procedures to ensure transparency and fairness.

By subscribing to SmartCaddie.ai, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy. Please read it carefully before making a purchase.

2. 30-Day Free Trial

Try before you buy! All new users receive a 30-day free trial with full access to SmartCaddie.ai features.

  • No credit card required: Start your free trial with just your email address
  • Full access: Unlimited rounds, all courses, all AI features
  • Cancel anytime: No charges if you cancel before the trial ends
  • Nothing is charged during the trial: you are never billed unless you choose to subscribe in the app
  • When it ends: access to the caddie features stops until you subscribe. There is no free tier. Your account, rounds and data are kept.

We'll email you before your trial ends so you can decide whether to subscribe. Because nothing is charged during the trial, there is nothing to cancel if you simply let it lapse.

3. Subscription Plans & Billing

3.1 Available Plans

  • Monthly: unlimited rounds and courses, billed monthly
  • Yearly: unlimited rounds and courses, billed yearly, cheaper per month

The exact price for your country is shown on the purchase screen in the SmartCaddie app before you confirm. That price is set in the App Store and Google Play and is what you will be charged. There is no free tier.

3.2 Billing Cycle

  • Monthly subscriptions: Billed on the same day each month
  • Yearly subscriptions: Billed annually on your subscription anniversary
  • Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same term unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Payment processing: handled by Apple or Google as merchant of record. The charge appears on your Apple Account or Google Play account, not from SmartCaddie.ai.

3.3 Taxes

Apple and Google collect any applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax, GST and similar) as part of the purchase, based on the country of your store account. The price shown on the purchase screen in the app is what you will be charged.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel at any time. Apple and Google are the merchant of record for SmartCaddie subscriptions, so cancellation happens in your store account — we cannot cancel a subscription for you:

4.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

  • During free trial: Immediate cancellation, no charges
  • Paid subscription: Access continues until the end of current billing period
  • No prorated refunds from us: refunds are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies — see section 5
  • After it ends: caddie access stops until you subscribe again. There is no free tier. Your account and round history are kept.

4.3 Resubscribing

You can subscribe again at any time from the SmartCaddie app — like the first purchase, it is an in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play. Letting a subscription lapse does not delete anything: your account, profile, clubs and round history are all still there, and subscribing restores access to them immediately.

5. Refunds

5.1 Refunds are handled by Apple and Google

SmartCaddie subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and those stores are the merchant of record. That means they take the payment, and they decide refunds under their own policies. We are not able to issue, approve or deny a refund, and we never receive your payment details — so we could not refund a card even if we wanted to. Any refund request has to go to the store that took the payment.

5.2 How to request a refund

  • Bought on iPhone or iPad: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, choose the SmartCaddie purchase and request a refund. Apple decides the outcome.
  • Bought on Android: use Google Play's refund process, or Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history → the SmartCaddie order → Request a refund. Google decides the outcome.

If a store grants a refund, your access to the paid features ends. Refund timing and the method it is returned by are the store's, not ours.

5.3 We can still help

We cannot move money, but we can help with the things that are actually ours: if something is broken, if your subscription is not unlocking your account, or if you think you have been charged for something you did not buy, contact us through Profile → Support and we will investigate and fix what we can. If the resolution is a refund, we will tell you plainly and point you at the store.

5.4 Your statutory rights

Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, where that right cannot be waived by agreement.

6. Failed Payments

Because Apple and Google take the payment, they also handle what happens when one fails — an expired card, insufficient funds, and so on. They will contact you, retry the charge, and give you a grace period under their own rules. We are not involved in that process and cannot update your payment method for you; update it in your Apple Account or Google Play account settings.

If the store ultimately cannot collect payment, your subscription lapses and caddie access stops until you subscribe again. Your account, your rounds and your data are kept — nothing is deleted, and resubscribing restores access.

7. Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. Because Apple and Google sell the subscription, a price change is made in the App Store or Google Play, and they — not us — notify you and handle your consent:

  • A price change never affects the period you have already paid for. It can only take effect on a future renewal.
  • Apple and Google notify subscribers of a price increase before it takes effect, and depending on the size of the increase and your country, they may require you to actively agree to it — if you do not, the subscription simply does not renew.
  • You can turn off auto-renew at any time before a renewal (section 4) to avoid an increase.

8. Special Circumstances

If you are deployed, unwell, or in financial difficulty and need to stop paying, the fastest thing you can do is turn off auto-renew in your Apple or Google account (section 4) — you will not be charged again, and you keep access for the period you have already paid for.

We are not able to pause a subscription or issue a partial refund, because Apple and Google hold the money and control the billing schedule. Both do consider refund requests case by case, and explaining your circumstances to them (section 5) is the route that can actually result in one.

Please do still contact us — we would rather know, we can help with anything on our side, and your account and round history will be waiting when you come back.

9. Account Termination by SmartCaddie.ai

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate our Terms of Service. In such cases:

  • Your access to the service ends.
  • We cannot refund, and we cannot withhold a refund — that decision belongs to Apple or Google, and you are free to ask them.
  • Your subscription does not stop billing automatically. If you have one, turn off auto-renew in your store account (section 4), or it will keep renewing.
  • You may be prevented from creating new accounts.
  • Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Violations include: fraud, abuse, unauthorized sharing, reverse engineering, or illegal activities.
