At SmartCaddie.ai, we want you to be completely satisfied with our AI-powered golf caddie service. This policy explains our refund and cancellation procedures to ensure transparency and fairness.

By subscribing to SmartCaddie.ai, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy. Please read it carefully before making a purchase.

2. 30-Day Free Trial

Try before you buy! All new users receive a 30-day free trial with full access to SmartCaddie.ai features.

  • No credit card required: Start your free trial with just your email address
  • Full access: Unlimited rounds, all courses, all AI features
  • Cancel anytime: No charges if you cancel before the trial ends
  • Automatic conversion: If you choose a paid plan, you'll be charged after 30 days
  • Free plan option: After trial, revert to 2 rounds/month free plan if no payment method added

We'll send you a reminder email 3 days before your trial ends, so you can decide whether to continue with a paid plan, switch to the free plan, or cancel.

3. Subscription Plans & Billing

3.1 Available Plans

  • Free Plan: $0/month - 2 rounds per month after trial
  • Monthly Plan: $9/month - Unlimited rounds and courses
  • Yearly Plan: $99/year - Unlimited rounds (save 17% vs monthly)

3.2 Billing Cycle

  • Monthly subscriptions: Billed on the same day each month
  • Yearly subscriptions: Billed annually on your subscription anniversary
  • Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
  • Payment processing: All payments processed securely through Stripe

3.3 Taxes

Prices shown do not include applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax, GST, etc.). Taxes are calculated based on your billing address and added at checkout.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account:

  1. Log in to your SmartCaddie.ai account
  2. Go to Profile → Subscription Settings
  3. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Confirm cancellation
  5. You'll receive a confirmation email

4.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

  • During free trial: Immediate cancellation, no charges
  • Paid subscription: Access continues until the end of current billing period
  • No prorated refunds: You've already paid for the current period
  • Free plan access: After cancellation, revert to 2 rounds/month free plan

4.3 Reactivation

You can reactivate your subscription anytime through your account settings. Your previous data and round history will be preserved (we keep deleted account data for 90 days).

5. Refund Policy

5.1 General Refund Policy

Important: Due to the digital nature of our service, we generally do not offer refunds for subscription fees. However, we handle each case individually and may issue refunds at our discretion.

5.2 When Refunds May Be Issued

We may consider issuing a refund in the following situations:

  • Billing errors: Duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, or unauthorized charges
  • Technical issues: Prolonged service outages preventing use of the service
  • Accidental purchases: Within 48 hours of purchase, with minimal usage
  • Exceptional circumstances: Evaluated on a case-by-case basis

5.3 When Refunds Are NOT Issued

  • Change of mind after using the service
  • Partial subscription periods (no prorated refunds)
  • Failure to cancel before renewal date
  • Dissatisfaction with AI recommendations (see free trial)
  • Device compatibility issues that could have been tested during free trial
  • Violation of our Terms of Service

5.4 How to Request a Refund

  1. Contact us through Profile → Support
  2. Select "Billing & Refund Request"
  3. Provide your order details and reason for refund request
  4. We'll review your request within 2-5 business days
  5. If approved, refunds are processed within 5-10 business days

5.5 Refund Method

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase. Depending on your bank or credit card company, it may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

6. Failed Payments & Account Suspension

6.1 Payment Failures

If your payment fails due to expired card, insufficient funds, or other reasons:

  • We'll send you an email notification immediately
  • You'll have 7 days to update your payment method
  • We'll retry charging automatically during this period
  • After 7 days, your account will be downgraded to free plan (2 rounds/month)

6.2 Chargebacks

Please contact us first! If you file a chargeback with your bank instead of contacting us, we may:

  • Suspend your account immediately
  • Permanently ban your account if the chargeback is unjustified
  • Charge a chargeback processing fee ($25)

We're happy to resolve any billing issues directly - just reach out to us first.

7. Price Changes

SmartCaddie.ai reserves the right to change subscription prices at any time. However:

  • You'll receive at least 30 days advance notice of any price increase
  • Your current subscription rate is locked until the end of your billing period
  • If you renew after a price change, the new price will apply
  • You can cancel before renewal to avoid the price increase

8. Special Circumstances

8.1 Military Deployment

Active military personnel deployed overseas may be eligible for:

  • Subscription pause for deployment duration
  • Prorated refund for unused subscription time
  • Contact us with deployment orders for consideration

8.2 Medical/Hardship Cases

If you're experiencing medical issues or financial hardship that prevents you from using the service, please contact us. We'll work with you to find a fair solution.

9. Account Termination by SmartCaddie.ai

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate our Terms of Service. In such cases:

  • No refund will be issued for remaining subscription time
  • You will lose access to your account and data immediately
  • You may be banned from creating new accounts

Violations include: fraud, abuse, unauthorized sharing, reverse engineering, or illegal activities.
